French Onion Soup Potatoes

It doesn't get any easier than French Onion Soup Potatoes.
Start with one package of the dry soup mix.  Add it to 1/2 cup melted butter.  Spray oil your baking dish.  Put sliced potatoes in baking dish.  Add the French Onion Soup mixed with butter to the top of the potatoes.    Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 30-45 minutes until done and browned.
Easy and delicous!

Cake Mix Crescent Rolls

A few years ago a friend shared a recipe for Cake Mix Crescent Rolls that she had found in a cookbook from one of the sportsman stores, maybe Gander Mountain??  A couple of minor changes later to the recipe and I added the Cake Mix Crescent Rolls to the Easter dinner menu.  Yummy!
Cake Mix Dinner Yeast Rolls
1 - package active rapid rise dry yeast (you can use regular yeast)
1 1/2 - cups warm water (110 degrees F)
3 1/4 - cups flour 
1 - 9 oz package Jiffy or other yellow cake mix 
1/4 - cup butter, melted to brush on baked rolls
*makes about 20 rolls
In bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until bubbly, about 10 minutes
Star of the show, a 9 0z. yellow cake mix.
Stir in cake mix and flour into yeast mix in bowl.  Beat until smooth.
Turn dough out on to a floured counter and knead until dough is no longer sticky.  Oil a clean, dry bowl.  Put dough in bowl and flip to oil top of dough ball.  Cover with warm, wet towel and let rise until double in size.  Approximately 45-60 minutes.  Grease two baking sheets.
Turn dough out on to floured counter, divide into two balls.  Let dough rest 5 minutes.  Roll a ball out ,one at a time, into a circle and brush with melted butter.  Cut each dough circle into pie wedges.  Roll up into crescent shape starting with fatter end.
Place on greased baking sheet.
Cover with oil sprayed plastic wrap.  Let double in size, approximately 20-30 minutes.  Remove plastic wrap.  Bake @350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Brush with butter after removing from oven.

Bakers Rack TLC

Yikes!  Such terrible neglect...this poor Bakers Rack spent a winter season in the Jacuzzi outdoor room.  The resulting images are those of a Bakers Rack TLC needed cry.
Saggy shelves...
untold horrors created scars...
it has been a long, hard never ending winter in NY.
Gotta love stain and a couple of poly coats on the new pine board shelves!
A new indoor home for plants to rest on and soak up some sunshine this spring : )

Grown Up Easter Wreath

It's time for a grown up Easter Wreath this year.  I love those colorful plastic eggs, but this year I am going for a different look.  Welcome the mirror look of Rust-oleum spray paint to the craft table to "mirrorize" the plastic eggs of years gone by.  This new grown up Easter Wreath does not mean I will give up my marshmallow peeps or chocolate bunnies!

Don't judge, the driveway is being top coated soon...

I like  coordinating the silver mirror painted eggs to the silver nickel color of door window insert trim and door hardware handle.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Fresh veggies always taste sooo good in the winter months.  Roasting root veggies in the oven is quick and easy.  Today I am roasting brussels sprouts.  Start by cleaning and trimming the brussels sprouts.  Cut the sprouts in half.  Put in zip lock bag.
Into the zip lock bag I drizzle some olive oil, grated parmesan cheese and minced garlic.
I added some chunks of baby carrots and partially cooked potatoes to the mix.  Shake the bag to coat veggies evenly.  
Spread veggies evenly on baking pan.
Bake @ 400 degrees Farenheit for approximately 30 minutes until veggies are tender.
Time to gobble these veggies up!
