Tub and Shower Magic Cleaner

I have been seeing this tub and shower cleaner
all over Pinterest lately.
Sounded too good to be true, but let's give it a try.
Super Tub and Shower Cleaner Recipe is two ingredients only!

Directions:

  1. Heat vinegar in microwave until hot and pour into spray bottle.
  2. Add the Dawn soap. Put the lid on and gently shake to incorporate.
  3. "You now have a powerful cleaning product that will melt soap scum and tub and shower buildup, clean sinks, appliances and just about anything," according to the web site.  I put a link to the original web page at the end of this post.  Just spray it on, scrub, rinse and be in wonder. For tough soap scum build-up, spray the mixture on and allow it to sit as long as overnight. Then, scrub and rinse.
NEVER, NEVER MIX WITH BLEACH.  MANY PRODUCTS HAVE BLEACH.ONLY USE THE VINEGAR AND DAWN DISH DETERGENT TOGETHER AND RINSE COMPLETELY.  DEADLY TOXIC FUMES MAY RESULT IF MIXED WITH BLEACH OR OTHER PRODUCTS.
THUMBS UP! TERRIFIC CLEANER!

Grilled Hasselback Potatoes

You really don’t need a recipe for Hasselback potatoes. Hasselback potatoes, named for Hasselbacken, the Stockholm restaurant where they were first served, are easy to make and you can easily create several variations to compliment your entree and family preference.
Choose thin-skinned potatoes, scrub them, and slice thinly, cutting not quite all the way through. At this point you could include any number of ingredients in between the slices.  I added several cloves of garlic with grated parmesan cheese and fresh rosemary to the Swedish version of baked potatoes to enhance the flavor. Set the potato on a piece of tin foil, dab with a bit of butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Wrap it up and throw it on the grill. Depending on the heat they should take about an hour.  They were very delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

If you can't take the heat...

Whew...If you can't take the heat... make Iced Mocha Coffee to refresh your spirit  : )  Yep, today's scorcher got to me, in spite of my love of the tropical weather.

Iced Mocha Coffee
Start with some coffee ice cubes.
I freeze some coffee "leftovers" for this purpose throughout the summer.
I don't like what the diluting plain water ice cubes does to my Iced Coffee.

Add cold coffee over some coffee ice cubes in blender cup  (I use strong coffee from coffee beans I grind and brew the night before and keep in the fridge).  I am using approximately 3/4 cup for an individual serving made in my Magic Bullet.

Fill the Magic Bullet mix cup with 1/2 and 1/2 cream to approximately 1 inch from the rim.
Add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon to mix.

Add sugar to your liking, I use 1 teaspoon.

Blend
I stir in Hershey's Chocolate flavored syrup to suit my taste.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.....

Homemade Pizza Dough and Pizza

The easiest pizza dough recipe I have used, crispy and bread like at the same time.

Crust:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 envelope Fleischmann's RapidRise Yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Combine 1 cup of the flour with yeast and salt in large bowl.
Heat water and oil to 120-130 degress.  Gradually add to the flour mixture and whisk until ingredients smooth.  Add remaining flour to make soft dough.  Turn out on to a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.

Let rest 10 minutes.

Roll out dough.  Place on pizza pan brushed with olive oil.
Toppings:
3/4 cup Tomato based pizza sauce
Crimp the edges of your pizza crust with finger tips.  Smooth your pizza sauce over your crust.  Try to avoid "race tracks" so you will not have the dreaded bubbles in your crust/pizza.

Add on top of sauce- chopped onions, green peppers, mushroom slices and fresh basil.

Tonight's choice of toppings also included pepperoni, fresh pineapple and crispy bacon.

Final topping of shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses.  Bake @450 degrees for 10 minutes and then reduce tempature to 375 degress for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and crust bottom is brown and golden.
Enjoy!

Driftwood Hen and Chicks Planter

The easiest and fastest planting I have ever done : )
My favorite part of this project is collecting the driftwood...

Start with a piece of driftwood that has a few crevices for soil and plants to grab on to.
I drilled into the driftwood to give a bit more area for succulents to grab on to.

My Hen and Chicks plant is multiplying like crazy, so they become my transplants to the driftwood.

My ode to childhood summers filled with beaches and water and of course, driftwood.  Gotta love driftwood : )  baskets of it, driftwood planters, and driftwood boats...
"Just right" driftwood boat and mast.  Some scrap fabric and maybe string...
 The mast goes up!

Whoo?

Ahhh...Martha, Martha, Martha.  I have an idea board and deep in the abyss of ideas I found a lonely photo of a felt owl with a note clipped to it reading, "Martha Stewart's craft."  No directions, no pattern, and so here goes a Martha wannabe craft for me : )
Felt squares, Styrofoam ball, wiggle eyes and hot glue gun will get things started here.
Layer feathers with cut out felt feathers.
Add ears, nose, eyes and feet...And whoo is ready for a debut!
Whoo loves ya : )
